The 31-year-old has played 68 one-day internationals and amassed 1,871 runs at an batting average of 34.64, but will now continue to press his claims a Test recall in time for the Ashes starting in Perth on 21 November.

Surprise Inclusion and Team Changes

Renshaw is in line to make his white-ball international debut in the forthcoming series against India after last being included in an ODI squad in 2022.

Renshaw has played 14 Test matches with the most recent appearance in India in 2023 but is also hoping for a return to the Test team as Australia search for a fix to their opening batting issues.

Fast bowler Mitchell Starc returns for the ODI series against India after being rested since excelling for Australia in the 3-0 Test series sweep of West Indies in July.

BBL performer Mitch Owen might get his ODI debut after being concussed in the build-up to Australia’s most recent 50-over series against South Africa.

ODI captain Pat Cummins remains on the sidelines as he aims to recover from a back injury by the time to lead Australia in the first Ashes Test in November.
